Hi, I’m Luca.

I am a publisher, cartomancer, an initiated witch, and a Buddhist located in Chicago. I created this site because social media has sadly become analogous to advertising. I used to blog back in the old days (#livejournalforever), and I loved just sharing my interests and chatting with others, all without the sponsorships.

Here’s a little bit about what you can expect on my site:

Tarot and Cartomancy

I have been reading tarot and other forms of cartomancy for about 25 years. I used to read for the public, but now I only do that now and again at local events. I don’t limit myself to the types of decks I use, though admittedly, I am a fan of pip decks like the Tarot de Marseilles. In addition to tarot, I love divining with playing cards and the Lenormand. You’ll find me teaching the occasional class at Malliway Brothers here in Chicago.

Here, you’ll find deck reviews and various techniques for reading cards. I’m not big on keywords, so don’t expect them here. My hope is I can inspire diviners and readers to experiment more in their practice.

Initiatory Witchcraft

I am an initiated Gardnerian and an aspirant in the Wildwood Tradition. These traditions are closed practices, but I’ll share my thoughts about common misconceptions, seeking initiatory witchcraft, and reflections on cultivating a personal practice.

Publishing

I am the chief publisher of Crossed Crow Books and co-owner of New Forest Press. Crossed Crow Books publishes non-fiction books on witchcraft and the occult, whereas New Forest Press focuses on occult fiction. I know traditional publishing can be a little initimidating, so my hope is to help folks navigate the waters from the perspective of the publisher.

Since I run both companies, none of the books I review will be published by either publishing house in the spirit of reducing bias.

That said, we have some really cool authors. They are good books, I promise. 💕
